Figurative comb - Abron - Ghana
Combs in Ghana's traditional African art
The Abron are a subgroup of the Akan people. They are straddling the border between Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire. Renowned for their very small bronze statuettes, their style is similar to that of the Koulango.
This comb is surmounted by a statuette quite similar to those used to weigh gold. This genuine comb itself is decorated with linear patterns.
