Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso's tribal art is known for its shapes and colors, among which the Mossi, Bwa and Lobi traditions occupy a prominent place. Bwa masks, made of painted wood, are used in initiation ceremonies, while Lobi figures embody protective spirits with sometimes sexual behavior.
The Mossi, for their part, create sacred masks linked to royal rituals. These works embody the heritage of Burkinabe primitive arts, a fusion of spirituality and ancestral cultural identity.
