Aesthetics in African art

In Côte d'Ivoire, the Baoulé ethnic group is one of the largest and most well-known in West Africa. Their artistic corpus, comprising mainly masks and statues, is renowned for its very high degree of refinement. Thanks to their high sense of stylization and their attention to detail, Baoulé sculptors have produced some of the most elegant pieces of African tribal art.
