Kotoko Putchu Guinadji horse rider
North African tradition
The traditional art of Africa includes bronze work. Among the objects made of this material, we know the statuettes representing a rider on his mount from Chad, from the Kotoko culture more precisely. These African equestrian figures bear the name of putchu guinadji. These warrior figurines were used as charms or amulets to counter evil possession.
