Songye Nkishi figure

This African nkishi statue of the Songye is distinguished from other mankishi by the treatment of the face: this one is reminiscent of the Hemba soko mutu masks, ape masks representing the chimpanzee, spirit of the bush.

Independently of this rare and atypical face which will delight collectors, this figure of power has pretty accessories: necklaces of colored pearls, top horn still sealed and therefore intact, loincloth.

From a sculptural point of view, the curved legs on the base are appreciable.
