Bambara Nyeleniw figure - SOLD OUT
This couple of statue is linked to the initiatory society Bamana. It is through the sculptures that the existence of the Jo society was revealed at the end of the 50s. The fine decorative incisions correspond not only to a concern for elegance and coquetry, but also to the learning of pain. The Jo provided for the initiation of both boys and girls, although the latter's initiation was smaller.
