Kwere female figure

Remarkable African statue representing a Kwere or Zaramo woman in Tanzania. In African art, one rarely encounters traditional statues from these countries. Nevertheless, certain constants remain, such as the generous chest supported by the hands, highlighting the ideal future foster mother that men wish to marry.
The headdress is also impressive, pulled back with a depression in the middle that matches the headdress worn by women as seen in the attached contextual photo where a beautiful young Kwere woman is observed.
