Hungaan figure
Known in the African art of R. D. Congo, the Hungaan (Hungana) statuary suffers from a huge lack of information.
Almost all of the known museum pieces are not accompanied by any collection data allowing us to know their precise function and the main ethnographic research that was carried out in Hungaan territory was carried out at a time when many statues like this one were not no longer in use.
This artistic and cultural corpus is nevertheless close to that of the Yaka and Suku in the south of the DR Congo. There is a three-lobed headdress stretching backwards.
