Luluwa Mbulenga figure - SOLD OUT
Statuette of African art representing a dignitary carrying the regalian objects in the hands. The patina is very dark, almost black, and smooth. Like other objects in the Lulua / Luluwa corpus, this figurine has many fine scarifications throughout the body. These are scarifications that were worn for aesthetic but also social purpose. The neck is ringed.
This type of statuette is called Mbulenga. Discrete native repair at the level of the knife in the right hand.
