Zande Yanda statuette of Mani - SOLD OUT
The Azande are found in the northern part of the DRC, along the banks of the Uele river.
Zande statues and figurines are often representations of ancestors. Some of the Zande sculptures (Yanda or Banda) are associated with the highest rank of the Mani secret society which protects members of society from the dangers of disease, hunting and evil spirits. The next statue has a reddish patina and looks very old.
