Chokwe Kasengosengo whistle
The African kasengosengo whistles are used for sending messages, gathering the village, or serving as signals during hunts in Chokwe peoples in Angola.
Each Chokwe whistle can produce a specific sound at a precise moment to create a melody. However, it is not truly considered a musical instrument. Nevertheless, the sound can be modified using the fingers through the two tubular side holes located on the bulging neck of the Chokwe whistle.
This modulation of the kasengosengo sound could also accompany a significant event, such as a coronation.
