Luba Kifwebe Mask - SOLD OUT

Mask from the workshop of the average Luvua, Kiambi

Among the Luba, the most widespread masks are the Kifwebe, a mask they have in common with the Songye. The symbolic context of these masks, once formidable, today linked to festive ceremonies, is highly significant. The Kifwebe mask is an anthropomorphic facial element, of rounded shapes and whose main characteristic is manifested by the accumulation of parallel, curvilinear or straight streaks, in alternating colors.
