Bembe mask SOLD OUT

African art among the Bembe

The Bembe people live to the east of Hemba, on a territory bordering the western shore of Lake Tanganyika. The Bembe's artistic achievements are mainly represented by royal statues with original features. These masks were used by hunters who came from the banks of the Lualaba to settle on the shores of Tanganyika.
