Mwera mask
Small circular African mask with a beautiful bright red patina. The face is collected in the center of the mask, a small flat nose, circular eyes and a small gaping mouth.
The particularity lies in the developed ears that are regularly found in African art from Tanzania within various ethnic groups such as the Nyamwezi, Mwera, Makua, Makonde.
This mask of small dimensions is perforated around its perimeter, testifying to the fact that it was accompanied by a headdress. Given its dimensions, it should not be worn in front of the face but rather above the head of the dancer.
