Ngbaka mask - SOLD OUT
Expressive African mask from northeastern Congo DRC. These forest regions are home to many ethnic groups that are more or less represented or known. These mysterious regions have always been plagued by inter-ethnic and economic tensions, so they have not been much studied and most of the knowledge is based on assumptions.
The Nbaka masks, like the Kumu among others, are therefore pieces imbued with mystery and still virgin tribal power which must be respected as such. Face encrusted with reddish pigment. Facial scarifications present. A ring is attached in the nose.
