Ritual figure Kusu - SOLD OUT

Kabedja / Kabeja cult figures among Kusu / Hemba in African art

Living on the left bank of the Lualaba River, the Kusu have been strongly influenced by their neighbors. In Hemba and Luba, they borrowed the full-length statues related to ancestor worship. The Hemba also provided the model of the African Janiform statuettes of the Kabeja type and their magic charges "worn" on the head.
