Figurative headrest - Luba - Congo - SOLD

Neckrests / headrests in African art Luba

Very nice Luba neck support from the Republic of Congo, former Zaire. This African head rest belonged to a dignitary. It is a finely carved work of court art, which on this copy is clearly out of the ordinary. These sculptures were prestigious objects. Although originally it was used to preserve the hairstyles during rest. The object has a very nice patina.
