Deangle type African mask in Ivory Coast
There is an impressive number of different masks in the Dan. On the one hand because of the geographical distribution of the Dan straddling the border between Liberia and Ivory Coast and therefore the workshops and sculptors have undergone and launched different influences; but on the other hand by the intrinsic culture of Dan.
Thus, each type of mask has its use in every circumstance. Angular style, smooth and dark patina. Visibly a female mask with almost closed eyes. Rope hat still present. A classic piece that will fit beautifully into any collection.
