Kuba cephalomorphic cup
Head-shaped cut from the Bushoong kingdom, the main Kuba group in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Very beautiful sculptural quality, some chiseled patterns. Horns adorning the head. Smooth, dark patina following palm oil applications.
This type of African art object was reserved for chiefs, dignitaries and kings.
