Soubry family, Belgium
The Soubry family's collection of African art was built up over three successive generations of presence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Mainly focused on the key masks and statues of the Songye Luba and Bakongo, the collection is made up of hundreds of pieces, sometimes of very imposing dimensions.
Many masterpieces passed through the hands of the Soubry family before being sold at auctions around the world for sometimes astronomical sums, as well as in our gallery.
