Cross fetish Botchio Fon - SOLD OUT

African botchio or bocio fetishes can be used for beneficial or evil purposes. Atypical in form, this traditional fetish has a thick patina of sacrificial use. The Fon are famous for the making of fetishes at the worrying pace with complex patinas. Sometimes they can also be in the form of poles or bowls.

In African art, the word Botchio or Bocio designates an ancient religious manifestation, is composed of "bo", power, and "cio" which means corpse.
The use of a Christian cross testifies to the entanglement of monotheistic and pagan religious beliefs and practices in African cultures.
