This superb fetish from the Abomey region, nicknamed Molotov by the fetish diviner who designed it - given the evidence of its composition - is part of a highly prized set of figures and objects of the Vodun cult collected throughout Benin by an experienced collector. There are no less than 200 very distinct pieces collected between 1950 and 1975, which constitutes a major historiographical testimony to Fon culture and ritual fetishism from West Africa.
