Pindi drummer figure

Pindi African art is very similar to that of the neighboring Pende and Suku ethnic groups in the Democratic Republic of Congo. One nevertheless finds in their artistic corpus pieces with a rather specific style such as this one: a drummer. The individual holds the instrument between his legs and stands in a dynamic position. The cap is pulled back and embossed. The face is expressive, detailed and the toothed mouth. In the example presented, a skin was stretched over the drum for the sake of realism.
