Mbole house mask - SOLD OUT
Speaking example of a flat African mask from the Congo: ovoid wooden board on which the sculptor created a face with cubist features worthy of the greatest contemporary Western artists supported by brightly colored pigments. This traditional Mbole mask was not worn on the face but hung in the box, hence the name box mask.
Mbole masks are very rare, especially in this state of conservation, we know them mostly statues.
