Bambara mask - SOLD OUT
African Bambara mask collected in situ by a French doctor in the 1950s. This typology is very rare. It is in any case an animal representation in view of the facies. This one is very well balanced and has scarifications as numerous as they are fine. The patina testifies to an important use. This mask has gaping eyes that pierce the viewer with their gaze during the masked dance as part of the rites linked to hunting.
