Pende Mbangu mask

This African mask comes from the territory of the Eastern Pende. This is a very graphic mask worn during village festivities. Among the mbuya, masks of festivities, it bears the specific name of mbangu, that is to say the "disease" mask.
Indeed, his twisted and contrasting face of white and black represents the deformed face of the epileptic.
This masque is tardif and does not leave a couche blanche.
