Senoufo Kpeliye Mask

This type of traditional mask from Ivory Coast was linked to the Poro society and one of the most representative of Senoufo art.

Senoufo African art finds its roots in their main source of livelihood: agriculture.

It is therefore the agrarian rites which gave birth to a multitude of objects including masks linked to Poro initiation.

The African Kpeliye masks demonstrate the mastery of Senoufo sculptors through their detailed appearance.
