The Agbogo-type African mask (Agbogho) represents a young girl in Igbo / Ibo, located in Nigeria;
The facies is elongated, usually in light tones. Here we observe a set of linear patterns and pigments.
The dentition has been detailed. The lines are fine and the whole balanced.
This type of tribal mask could be accompanied by a cap.
This one, quite late, was probably sculpted to be sold, which does not prevent it from having nevertheless participated in festivities that are now more folkloric than purely ritual.
