Mwana Pwo mask Chokwe

The Pwo mask brings the first female ancestor to life. classic scarifications are present on the forehead and on the underside of the eyes. The original cord headdress is still present as well as this strip of red fabric typical of traditional costumes. This mask occurs during the initiation rites of young boys which bears the name of Mukanda.
