Luba Musamo headrest
Superb African musamo neckrest from the Luba.
This is an unusual, non-figurative typology. We most often know the headrests of African art from the Luba kingdom featuring female caryatids supporting the seat.
Here, the seat, the extremities of which are decorated, is supported by a twisted pillar itself resting on a representation of a four-legged stool.
