Masks in African art Koulango

The Koulango (or Kulango, Koulango Buna, Kulango Buna, Kulange, Nkuraeng, Nkurange) are about 150 000 established in the north of Côte d'Ivoire, around the cities of Bouna and Bondoukou and close to the Ghana border, scattered among the Senufo, close to the Lobi.

They are also found in the Comoé National Park. They were called "Pakhallas" by the Dioulas and often named by the first colonizers. Voltaic ethnic group, they practice little ancestor worship and rather worship many spirits of nature. Their art is influenced by the Akan culture conveyed by the Abron.
