Mbole hairpin - SOLD OUT
This African hairpin is surmounted by a head with a typical Mbole headdress. It comes from the western Mbole, near what is now Salonga National Park. It is a type of African art object occasionally encountered in northern Congo, among the Mangbetu, Zande and Mbole, but also further south, Chokwe, Suku, Yaka.
These pins were used to develop women's hairstyles.
