Tugubélé Senoufo figure - SOLD OUT
All these sculptures of African art are often distinguished by elaborate hairstyles, often in the height and sometimes surmounted by decorative elements, as in this case, a lizard acting as a cover overhangs the sculpture. The body is dominated by an oblong torso, very thin seen from the front, and an arched back, which gives it a majestic position. The arms, very wide and at the shoulders inserted by rings, are narrowed to the elbows. The legs are very short, giving the silhouette a very singular rhythm.
A true masterpiece of the Ivory Coast, this object was collected by us in a private French collection, it is dated post 1950.
