Yaoure mask
Traditional African Baule art
Traditional Yaouré or Yohouré mask. The latter are culturally and artistically close to the Baoulé. However, there are some differences. The three-lobe headdress is one of them. A crenellated beard is also more often observed on Yaouré masks. Beautiful old smooth patina. Portage traces. Side perforations intended to attach the costume of fibers as well as a stick that the wearer held between the teeth to keep the mask on the face.
