Baoule Mblo mask - SOLD OUT

African dances and art

This circular wooden African mask belongs to the style of the Master of Kamer, named after the owner of the first round mask of this type in Ivory Coast, Henri Kamer (1927-1992). It is an Mblo type mask linked to dances performed during socio-political problems but also during village festivities. We can see on this piece half-moon eyes, a small circular mouth and a headdress finely chiseled around the edge, inlaid with kaolin.
