The Songola are an ethnic group related to the Lega. They are located in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The territory of the Songola is located northwest of the Lega as seen on the attached map.
This African mask intervened, as with the Lega, within the framework of the Bwami association which aimed to initiate individuals throughout their lives.
