Ligbi mask of the Do - SOLD OUT
This traditional African mask is native to the Bondoukou region of north-eastern Côte d'Ivoire. It is an example of the Do's masquerade. His delicate sculpture emphasizes the beauty of the face and the perfection of the complex hairstyle. The two dangle earrings attest that it is a classic mask in the sense that the newer mask pendants are generally longer and allow to distinguish the ears themselves, which is not the case here.
The Senufo were inspired by these appendages while extending them on their masks Kpeliye (or kodoliyehe).
