Vere figure - SOLD AT AUCTION
In African art, Vere or Glass statues are very unusual. The Vere are settled in Cameroon or Nigeria and are close artistically Mambila, Chamba and Mumumye. We find the treatment so special to this region with traditional expressive faces. Here, the character has a gaping mouth and facial scars. Sitting, his arms are folded over his chest.
