Kuba royal cup

Prestigious objects in African art

The Kuba palm wine goblets occupy a predominant place in prestigious objects intended for chefs. On the piece that I offer you here, we find beautiful decorations characteristic of the African art of the Kuba kingdom. This is a very beautiful, well-preserved and old copy. In the contextual photos, we see on the ground a set of these cuts in front of one of the dancers wearing the elephant mukyeem mask. In another photo, a Kuba chief in the village of Isandja (Sankuru region) on his sedan chair.
