Songye Nkisi figure - SOLD OUT

Wooden statue accompanied by its traditional accessories intended to give it magical powers. These powers should protect the owner from bad luck and calamities. Depending on the size of the statuettes, these mankishi (singular nkishi) belonged to an individual, a family or an entire village among the Songye.

It has been desecrated after use, in fact we can see its accessories on the body (bags, cords) but a perforation at the top of the skull has been sealed. This cavity originally housed a horn filled with a magical mixture as well.
