Bembe owl mask - SOLD OUT

Authentic African mask from the Bembe, a people close to the Lega who share an initiatory tradition with them.
The mask is shaped like a long half cylinder. There are large, very stylized eyes and a small mouth. In an initiation setting, this mask was worn by the master in order to instill in young initiates the importance of observing and paying attention, like the owl which, thanks to its large eyes, sees through the night.
