Ngbaka Dagara mask

The Ngbaka are culturally close to their neighbors, the Nbandi and the Ngombe. Ngbaka masks, known in African art as dagara, are worn during adolescent circumcision and initiation ceremonies linked to Gaza society.

Oval in shape, their face is often concave, with a triangular nose and linear scarification on the forehead and temples.
