Dogon miniature ladder of Binou

€295.00

This small Dogon ladder was carved in the image of the real-size ladders used to access the granaries. This small room was used as part of the ancestor worship practiced by any Dogon individual. In a box dedicated to these rituals, it was placed in a terracotta container which supposedly contained the soul of the deceased. This scale was then used for the soul of the latter to be able to leave the container and access the world of the ancestors.
