African Mask - Mossi - Burkina Faso
The stylization of traditional masks in African art in Burkina Faso
It is an authentic mask with human features embellished with curved horns in the shape of a blade. Everything is stylized and decorated with stylized motifs.
The Northern Mossi masks resemble the Mason styles of the Dogons of Mali and reflect their common history. Five hundred years ago, when the Mossi States were founded, Dogons from this region were assimilated to the Mossi society, while others fled to their present home around the cliffs of Bandiagara.
